Prerequisite:
High School Diploma including a 70% in Biology 30, Chemistry 30, Foundations inMathematics 30 or Pre-Calculus 30 (Pre-Calculus 30 is recommended), and Physics 30 is recommended.
Bridging Programming
Students will take 1 year of a specific set of university level math, chemistry, biology, physics, anatomy and social sciences to prepare them to succeed in the MRI Technologist program. University classes can be done through the University of Saskatchewan.
MRI Technologist Program:
After successfully completing the one year of university, students will take 1.5 years of didactic learning online to learn the theory of Magnetic Resonance Imaging. This is offered online through our partner at Michener Institute of Education at UHN in Ontario. After completing the didactic portion, students will then come to National Medical Imaging Clinic, Education & Research Centre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. for 15 weeks to engage in their required practicum hands on learning.
Certification
Upon completion of their studies, students will be able to challenge the national exam in either Canada to receive certification as a Magnetic Resonance Technologist.
Timeline:
University Courses = 1 year (2 Semesters)
MRI Didactic Learning = 1.5 years (3 Semesters)
MRI Practicum= 15 weeks (4 months approx.)
Total = 3 years
